01 / The foundations
Search, answers and AI discovery.
Three connected disciplines, built around the same business goals.
What is search engine optimization (SEO)?
SEO supports discovery through technical accessibility, relevant content, internal links and credible business information. It helps make your website easier to find and understand in search. These foundations also support useful customer answers and a clearer business identity.
What is answer engine optimization (AEO)?
AEO makes content easier to use when people ask questions. It includes direct answers, descriptive headings, accessible page text and supporting evidence. The aim is to explain what customers need to know and help them evaluate your services.
What is generative engine optimization (GEO)?
GEO focuses on how a business is represented in AI-generated answers. The work connects useful content, consistent business information and authority signals with reviews of selected AI mentions and citations. Customers may use AI tools to research providers and compare options; each platform controls what its answers include.
Do AEO and GEO replace SEO?
They build on it. Crawlable pages, useful content, internal links and a clear business identity remain important across traditional search and AI-powered tools. AEO adds an emphasis on answering specific customer questions; GEO adds a review of how your business appears in selected AI responses.
How does AEO relate to voice search?
Clear answers to natural-language questions can make content more useful for voice-based discovery. We focus on the questions customers ask, readable explanations and accurate business details. Results depend on the assistant, its sources and the question.
02 / The work
A plan that fits your business.
Start with your customers, your market and the information already available about your business.
What does The Digital Roots Agency do?
The Digital Roots Agency is a U.S.-based, founder-led agency. We connect technical SEO, content strategy, local visibility and authority with search and AI visibility reviews. The work focuses on making your business easier to find and understand. Explore the services or meet the agency.
How do I choose an SEO agency for AEO visibility?
Choose an agency that connects sound SEO with clear customer answers and explains how it measures the work. Ask which pages it will improve, what it will deliver, who handles the work and how progress will be reported. Look for case studies with clear metrics, reporting periods and limitations. Google rankings, AI mentions, citations and inquiries should be measured separately. Avoid guaranteed rankings or AI recommendations. Explore our services and published case studies to evaluate our approach.
Do you work with local businesses?
Yes. We work with local and service-based businesses in the United States. Our approach includes accurate business details, useful service and location content, Google Business Profile information and local search priorities tied to the markets a business actually serves.
What kinds of businesses can benefit from this work?
Businesses whose customers research expertise, compare providers or ask service questions can benefit from clearer information. Our published case studies include automotive dealerships and real estate businesses. The right priorities depend on your audience, competition and existing digital presence.
Can you improve existing content as well as create new content?
Yes. We review existing pages for clarity, accuracy, structure and search value, then improve them where useful. New content is added when it answers a real customer question or fills an important service or topic gap. Useful pages, supporting evidence and relevant internal links guide the work.
03 / Your starting point
Understand the readiness assessment.
A questionnaire is a starting point for discussion. Actual visibility needs its own evidence.
Does the free assessment measure live AI mentions or rankings?
The free assessment is a self-reported readiness questionnaire. Your answers help identify potential gaps in your digital presence. It does not scan AI platforms or measure current mentions, citations or rankings. Those require a separate review of actual search results and AI responses. Open the free readiness assessment.
How should I use the assessment result?
Use it as a starting point for a conversation about your business goals and potential gaps. The result reflects the information you provide. A review of your website, business information and selected search or AI responses can help turn those initial observations into practical priorities.
04 / Evidence and expectations
Know what the measures mean.
Clear questions, reporting context and honest limits make the findings more useful.
How is AI visibility measured?
A visibility review tests a defined set of customer prompts on selected platforms. Record the prompt, platform, date, market and response, then distinguish a brand mention from a linked citation or an explicit recommendation. Check whether the answer describes the business accurately. Keep the test conditions as consistent as possible and allow for variation between responses. Report Google rankings, website visits and inquiries separately. Our real estate measurement guide provides a practical starting method.
Where can I find case studies on AEO visibility success?
Our published case studies include automotive and real estate examples. Read each result with its metric, reporting period and stated limitations. AI visibility and organic search visibility are different measures, and neither alone establishes increased revenue. One client’s outcome does not predict another business’s result.
Can you guarantee a ranking, AI mention or recommendation?
No. Search engines and AI platforms control their results. AI answers can vary by question, time, location and context. We improve the information available about your business and evaluate selected results; inclusion and placement remain outside the agency’s control.
How long does it take to see results?
Timing varies with competition, the condition of your website, the changes required and the platform being measured. The case studies report results for specific clients and periods. They do not establish a promised timeline for another business.
